Los que van a Capital muy probablemente se suban el&nbsp;<strong>tren Roca<\/strong>, mientras que los que tienen la suerte de tener un empleo cerca de su casa seguramente apoyen la SUBE en&nbsp;la m\u00e1quina lectora de los colectivos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sin embargo, (muchos) a\u00f1os atr\u00e1s exist\u00eda una tercera opci\u00f3n que todav\u00eda sigue vigente en muchas otras ciudades del mundo pero de la que no quedan rastros en nuestras calles. Les hablo,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/launion.com.ar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">queridos amigos de&nbsp;<\/a><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/launion.com.ar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">La Uni\u00f3n<\/a><\/strong>, del&nbsp;tranv\u00eda.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El 3 de febrero de 1866, en los<a href=\"https:\/\/launion.com.ar\/nota\/43460\/2024\/12\/cuando-lomas-tuvo-un-club-pionero-y-multicampeon--el-lomas-athletic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;primeros a\u00f1os del partido de&nbsp;<\/a><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/launion.com.ar\/nota\/43460\/2024\/12\/cuando-lomas-tuvo-un-club-pionero-y-multicampeon--el-lomas-athletic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lomas de Zamora<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;como tal, se inaugur\u00f3 un servicio de tranv\u00edas a caballo, de Constituci\u00f3n a Barracas. A\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, la compa\u00f1\u00eda, que era de capitales ingleses, habilit\u00f3 un servicio especial los domingos&nbsp;y feriados, llegando hasta nuestra zona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Con el tiempo se fueron tendiendo nuevas v\u00edas<a href=\"https:\/\/launion.com.ar\/nota\/43050\/2024\/11\/el-hospital-espanol-un-patrimonio-cultural-en-el-corazon-de-temperley\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">, uniendo<\/a><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/launion.com.ar\/nota\/43050\/2024\/11\/el-hospital-espanol-un-patrimonio-cultural-en-el-corazon-de-temperley\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;Lomas con Temperley,<\/a>&nbsp;Banfield con Villa Albertina, Temperley con Villa Sastre e Hip\u00f3dromo de Temperley con Puente Francia<\/strong>, entre otras. Reci\u00e9n en 1906 el tranv\u00eda&nbsp;el\u00e9ctrico reemplaz\u00f3 al de tracci\u00f3n a sangre. Aquellos coches eran de color granate y hac\u00edan un recorrido entre Plaza de Mayo y Temperley.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pese a realizar el mismo trayecto, el tranv\u00eda no compet\u00eda con el ferrocarril porque tardaba el doble de tiempo: el recorrido en nuestra ciudad lo hac\u00eda por la avenida actual&nbsp;<strong>avenida Hip\u00f3lito Yrigoyen, Rodr\u00edguez Pe\u00f1a, Leandro N. Alem, Boedo, Carlos Pellegrini,&nbsp;Meeks y la estaci\u00f3n de Temperley.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En el regreso tomaba&nbsp;<strong>Meeks, Laprida, Alem, French y de nuevo Yrigoyen, siguiendo por los Talleres de Remedios de Escalada, Lan\u00fas, La Mosca, Gerli, Pi\u00f1eiro y Avellaneda.<\/strong>&nbsp;El trayecto total era de 1 hora y 20 minutos. \u00bfY para&nbsp;qu\u00e9 se usaba entonces, si tardaba tanto? Es que al no existir los colectivos (el primero empez\u00f3 a rodar en 1924), la gente se mov\u00eda en tranv\u00eda para distancias cortas.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La irrupci\u00f3n del colectivo fue un golpe fuerte para el servicio, ya que la gente dej\u00f3 de usarlo con tanta frecuencia. Pero el golpe de gracia para el tranv\u00eda ocurri\u00f3 en la ma\u00f1ana del 12 de julio de 1930, cuando un coche sufri\u00f3 un desperfecto y cay\u00f3 Riachuelo&nbsp;con 56 pasajeros a bordo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>S\u00f3lo cuatro sobrevivieron a la tragedia. Estos factores, sumados al desarrollo imparable del tren, le fueron quitando atractivo al tranv\u00eda, que fue perdiendo pasajeros y termin\u00f3 cerrando en 1948, cuando se levantaron las v\u00edas de la avenida Hip\u00f3lito Yrigoyen (entonces Pav\u00f3n) para su pavimentaci\u00f3n definitiva.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sin embargo, muchas otras v\u00edas, incrustadas en nuestras calles empedradas, siguieron visibles hasta fines de la d\u00e9cada del 60, principios del 70, cuando quedaron tapadas por otras capas de asfalto.
